When it comes to our YouTube name, we decided to mix the first initial of our names into a title. Which is how we settled on C.N.N. (Caleb Nick Nic). Alex acted as a cameraman for the group as well. The name fits because it does mix all of our news members names, as well has puts a little play on the actual C.N.N. news station.
The purpose of the channel is to inform listeners about events currently happening across the nation. Including standard news, weather and sports. The twist is, it is portrayed in a satirical way. We believe this can be successful to a younger crowd. Ages 12–22. This is because we appeal to that age group more than any other. It is giving news to the public in a way they can enjoy it. There is no news network that does that.
In order to build an audience, we would need to promote our channel on all social media platforms. Such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and even music sharing apps. Once that audience is attained, the way we would keep it is simple, yet effective. We would keep pumping out content in order to keep information up to date. But, as an audience builds, we would be able to obtain better equipment to do new things with the channel. Which will keep things from getting boring.
For this project, the only thing we needed was the camera from an iPhone 11, as well as the microphone on it. The iPhone 11 is nearly as good as a DSLR when it comes to video and audio quality. So for starting this channel, it did a perfect job.
