BEING AN INTERN AT LEENTECH NETWORK SOLUTIONS

I remember 4 or 5 months ago, I am so hopeless that i wont be able to finish my practicum because i cant find a company to hire me. But now here I am one day away from finishing my practicum.

I remember the struggle of finding a company while majority of other students practicum are already on progress. Some are already finished.

Until one day while i was scrolling over my Facebook news feed, I saw a post from some Mr.Richard Prodigalidad about his company looking for someone who can write creative contents. Alright! It fits my course and what i can do. So I gave it a shot! I messaged Mr.Richard and he told me to email them. Then Poof! I was scheduled for an interview.

So that’s the start of a wonderful stay at Leentech Network Solutions. When the interview day came and i entered their office for the first time, the first thing that caught my attention are the posters on their lobby about their services. Cloud Solution, UI/UX, Website Designing, are some of their services that i saw. “Oh boy! I think I’m in the wrong place” was the thought that came in my mind seeing the posters.

Obviously LNS is an IT Company so what am I doing here? I’m a writer not a tech person. What i didn’t know is that they also offer “Digital Marketing” (sounds new to me) and probably that is where i will be placed, that’s what Sir Joshua (the HR guy) told me.

A few questions and instructions, a little meeting with Mr.Richard (who happened to be the CEO of the company haha) , and Hooray! I am an intern finally! Time to start pouring those OJT hours haha.

When Monday came I’m excited and nervous of course. I noticed that they have this mini employee lecture every Monday morning but of course I’m not yet included. So i climbed up in their workstations and it looks cool there! Its like a little architectural maze was all over the place haha. I was assigned to my place then i was briefed about Digital Marketing. Too bad I am not oriented around and introduced because out of a sudden my Dept.Head Ms. Lalaine, pulled me out to come with them in Tagaytay for some meetings.

So that’s how it went mostly, majority of my time was going to meetings with clients together with my heads, then I will be tasked to write something.

People will always joke that you will just make coffee, photocopy files, and other light stuffs. But during my intern stay at LNS it wasn’t like that. I felt that I am also one of their employee and I’m included in our team ❤ (lesser employee maybe haha). I’m in the same workplace with them, i am included in meetings be it external or internal. I am also registered in the finger scanner (my number one enemy haha) for attendance.

The working environment is good too and the employees are very friendly. They implement “flexi-time” where you can come at the office as late as 10:00 AM but you still got to burn 8 hours. They also have breaks morning and noon and lunch break at 12:00PM-1:00PM. A play area is also available for recreational activities. You can play billiards and table tennis, boardgames, watch tv, play playstation games, during vacant hours.

Oh our team! We are the Digital Marketing Team. So what do we do?Basically we help business make their online presence strong and their business successful. We do research, analysis, social media marketing, social media campaigns, etc. and I’m the one for the contents.

In LNS, i was thought to go out of my comfort zone and do research, research, research! I wrote about business, weddings, television, diamonds, wedding planner, digital marketing, orientations, and etc.

Over my 4 months stay at LNS i learned a lot personally or about work (especially from Sir Richard). I also experienced a lot of first time during my stay.

It’s my first time to participate in a Wedding expo (Kasalang Tagaytay 2017), it’s my first time to go inside a condominium, it’s my first time to eat at a Korean restaurant, first time to taste wasabi, first time to eat sushi, first time to be in a meeting with big time clients, and many more experiences.

Oh well aside from the experience and warm treatment by the company there are some bonuses for me along the way. Roadtrip and FoodTrip! Who doesn’t love food and travel, right? Makati and Tagaytay are some of the frequent destinations that we went for meetings or events.

So as i said my practicum is almost done (at last!). I am giving all the “Thank You” that i could to Mr.Richard and LNS not only did they became the answer to my struggles they also became a teacher and trainer for me.

“Business is business” indeed. This is the number one lesson that i learned during my 4 month stay at LNS. I learned it from the months i spent with the team. Yes we are like friends or a family as we laugh and share our thoughts together but it can become very serious when it is time for work.

So for future interns in Leentech Network Solutions, you will surely have a good stay. :)
